Default Oil pressure dropping

i have a 2001 WS6 Trans Am with a TSP 383 motor. I recently did a tune up on it. I noticed that my oil pressure started dropping as the car warmed up. It dropped all the way to bout 25-30 psi at idle and it doesn't go up even if i rev it up. Before this my psi would be around 40-42 around there at idle even warmed up and at full throttle it hit close to 80. Its has a TSP ported LS6 oil pump and with the block and all the components including the oil pump they have bout a year and a half. Any suggestions do you'll think my oil pump is going bad. Oh i forgot to mention that i have always use Valvoline 10w30 conventional oil and that this time i added that RESTORE additive. I don't know if i messed up there but i don't know why i started losing oil pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i know what ur going though bro, i had my car parked for 4 months and when i when to go turn it on it was showing low oil pressure(20-30psi). I too have a tsp ported oil pump. I did an oil change with castrol 0W30 and K&N oil filter and it went back up. 2 days later i turned her on but it was back at 30 psi. I can floor it or rev it but the oil pressure stays the same(30psi). Both motor and pump have less than 2k mile son it.

i have about 9k miles on it. i just drained the oil on it again after just changing it yesterday only with 51 miles and put straight 30w motor oil it when up just a notch but still doesn't go up when i rev it up or put it on load, maybe close to 40 but that's it. i don't know if its safe to drive it like that. everything was working fine til i change the oil and added that crap RESTORE big mistake. if i can fix it im probably gonna sell the damn car im tired of it. It runs strong to to say with a 150shot and the 383 at a 50mph roll i took out a kawasaki 750 when i let off i was going 160mph and he said he was going 130+ when he saw me hit the brake lights.

When you changed the oil, did you go back with the same oil filter or did you change brands. I have seen different brand oil foliters make the oil pressure do wierd thing's with these motors.

no im using the same brand of always used. i hope its not the main bearings because when i floor the car the pressure doesn't even move and when i let off it tries to go up but doesn't.

i used to use MOBIL 1 before, than swapped to ROYAL PURPLE all i notice that it gave me more miles before oil changes. I've fixed my problem, the damn oil filter was clogged up or something. I think it was cause of that RESTORE additive. But i got my oil psi back up to 42-45 psi with the engine fully warmed up. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions.

glad to hear the crisis was averted. I was going to suggest swapping the OP too.

Just had the same thing happen to me today changed the oil, with PENZOIL PLATINUM and add some of that ENGINE RESTORE . Oil pressure was fine till it reached normal running temp then it would idle around 30 and at a decent throttle maybe 45. Before the change, the car would idle 42 and 60 under throttle. Changed oil and filter pressure back to normal. Stay away from ENGINE RESTORE! waste of money

I put the engine restore in and lost 20 pounds of oil pressure. Drove it about 50 miles to see if it would go back to normal but never did so i parked it woke up the next morning and changed the oil. the oil i drained out looked to be metallic. Now when i floor it and let off the gas the oil pressures raises slightly. Has the product hurt anyones main or rod bearings after there experience?

Hey guys , I bet it has something to do with the o-ring seal being softened from the restore or something like that ,,,,,,,,,,I've seen alot of posts with that o-ring having issues ,,,,,,,,My 2 cents good luck

As far as that engine restore ,,,it does help but I would only use it in an engine that was smoking or wearing out .
