There's no real need to modify it, but you could upgrade your PCV system by adding the LS6 Valley Cover while you have everything apart.
Its just a matter of removing the knock sensors, existing valley cover and cutting a piece of the block in order to make space for the LS6 Valley Cover.
Its not really that difficult. I did mine back in November ('09) when I installed an LS6 intake and also added a RevXtreme Catchcan. The only trouble I ran into was I kept breaking cutting wheels on the Dremel while trimming the block. Not that big of a deal.
Here's the writeup I followed...

I did the 243 and ls6 intake swap awhile back and used the stock ls1 coolent line. Worked fine with no issues after tightening it down. I had the intake off awhile later and could see where the stock lines were barely touching some of the small ribs on the bottom of the intake, so i just took a drimmel and notched out the ribs were the line was running, fits 100% perfect now.
oh also I have a spare set of centerbolt valve covers with new gaskets if your interested; just give me a pm.

Yes, and if you are not going to use Corvette coil covers you can replace all of the bolts with the pointy ends on them, they are a real pain when trying to change plugs in the back etc. And there is a thread in here showing where to grind the casting webs off of the bottom of the LS6 intake if you want to keep the LS1 cooling tubes JUST GO SLOW ! I did mine in about an hour with a dremmel. came out great, you've seen the pics
