The ls1 i bought had about 50-60k on it when i bought it, the owner told me that it would smoke a little on deceleration or actually after you decelerate and then get back in it, he said its the vacuum pulling oil past the worn valve seals. it dont smoke under acceleration at all even under full boost. its only when you down shift from a high rpm or lift after a high rpm pull and let it engine brake for a while, when you come to a stop or if you get back in the gas it will puff oil smoke for a few seconds and then clear up. if i do a pull and instead of engine brake i bump it to neutral and come to a stop it wont smoke. so does this sound like oil being sucked past the valve seals or is it the crappy weak stock LS1 oil control rings instead?

It's easy enough to check both. When you have a free day, pull the valve covers and rockers off and swap them. Try it and see if that helps. You might also try a compression and leak down to try and evaluate the condition of the rings. Neither one are too labor intensive and will give you an idea on where to go next.

I had the same problem, now my LS1 just smokes all the time. Haven't driven it in a month or so, waiting to rip into it.
Where should I start? I was planning on checking out the plugs to see if I can narrow it down to one cylinder. From there I wasn't too sure where to go, so I'd be interested in the answer as well.
Thanks
