Lq9 or ls1?
Just bought an 02 trans am m6 with a dead cylinder. Its got 80,000 miles on it. Not sure what is wrong with it because I haven't got it tore down yet. If there is something wrong with the head I will probably just fix the head and put it back together without pulling the engine. However if it is in the bottom I would consider swapping an lq9 because I can pick one up locally for a resonable price that only has 60,000 miles on it. I plan on upgrading the valvetrain with a small but noticable cam, pushrods, and springs. I'm not building a race car, just a weekend hotrod. Plan on leaving the 3.42 gears in. I'm concerned about resale value, weight, gas mileage(I would still like to get 23mpg or so). So what do you think? Any cam recommendations?
