Default PTV Clearance question

Hola,

I have a 236/236 .589/.589 112LSA custom cam in a stock 2002 motor out of a TA. I'm contiplating having my friend clean up my factory heads for th etime being and just using them as my ported head/cam combo.

Anyhow, I was wondering how much of a mill I should do and when I mill it, how far can I go before I hit issues with PTV clearance? What would be a safe mill that'll help with power a tad without sacraficing much on PTV clearance?

Thanks,
Christopher

no more than .030 you'll be fine.

I'm running a 238/242 .595/.595 112lsa in mine and still have plenty ptv clearance with.040" milled off my 241s.

To be sure, take your rockers and spark plugs out, make a shim to put between the intake valve and rocker and your exhaust valve and rocker on #1 cylinder (.100" exhaust .060" intake) plus the thickness of more than you plan to mill off the heads (if you plan on milling .030", make an intake shim .150" and exhaust shim .110")
Turn the motor over by hand and see if anything touches... This way you will be sure
