t2 vs 228

t2 vs 228
so looking at either the 228r or the torquer 2 cams to go with 2.5 5.3l heads. im not buying a cam for the sound but def. want to be able to hear the cam. will the t2 sound better or can the 228 be tuned on a 112 to sound choppy with say a lower idle? and ill be getting dual springs but how much shorter of a lifespan will my valvetrain see with the the t2 over the 228r? ive been leaning towards the 228r but the have heard lots of good things with the t2. im looking for around 425 hp on an m6.

I have a Torquer 2, you can see my power numbers and other mods in my sig. It sounds pretty choppy at idle, but on like cold start when you're at 1000 RPMS it barely chops at all.

Well you didn't need her anyway. My girl likes riding in my car cause it's loud and every one looks and stares. Or tell her when you cut the car off it's time for you and her to make some noise.

yeah while i dont want it obnoxious i do like when people stare. lol. im so up in the air with what exhaust to get tho. anything is better than my flowmaster but magnaflow, hooker, or borla are going to be the next one. if i could find a decent priced corsa system id have to go with that though. how low of idle's does everyone run as well?

im kinda hijacking my own thread but o well...my trans am has been out of commission for over a year now. only because ive been waiting to get the funds to fix it. how different is it driving an m6 after a cam install? and how long will it take to get used to after driving a honda civic all this time lol? i imagine after a tune it wont be too bad but im sure it will take some getting used to

Still waiting on my heads to get a tune, so here's a video of it dumped. Also has a fairly high idle 950ish. Obnoxious at WOT to say the least.

<<<<<<<< This one is fine with it but the other chica got to where she would only ride in my truck lol.
2000RDT/A: With a good tune it will have great manners and your biggest problem will be keeping it pointed straight
Well that and keeping clutches and 10 bolts in it.......

Don't rule out the V3 while your looking. We built it to replace the v2, it comes in earlier & makes a few more peak hp over the v2. With all 3 camshafts you'll be very happy no doubt.
Be sure you know which camshaft your going to run when you order the heads. We don't just ship you a preboxed set of heads, we mill & setup each set of heads to match the customers needs & camshaft!
