Default 04 GTO Cam advice

Ok guys, I know you get this ? all the time but I have an 04 GTO M6 with 52k miles.

Currently I have Kooks LTs w/ cats, Magnaflow Catback, and K&N FIPK. I'm running a diablosport Predator SLP performance tune (not custom, just the canned perf tune). I have a set of OEM springs and drag bags ready to be installed and will be putting a set of Nittos on when it warms back up.

I want to do a cam swap in the next few months (I know i will need an upgraded clutch to handle that power and a dyno tune after the swap). My buddy had the HPE S-cam in his over M6 and it was great but a bit aggressive for a daily driver. My car is a street car that will see a track maybe 3 times a year, daily driver, and I want a lopey sound but maintain some low down torque. My buddy had 407whp but I would be happy with 380+ at the wheels if it means more area under the curve.

Thanks guys!

Any advice would be great. I've been thinking about the TR 224 114 LSA

Look at the EPS stuff . I have been very impressed by what I have seen on here. I will strongly consider it if my 383 come together in the next 6 months as planned...

Also the F5 (224/228) or a F6 (226/230) on a 112 lsa would maintain good low end torque, and be very DD friendly.

I had the TR224 114 cam for a couple of years, great performer with lots of torque and sweet street manners. But, on stock 241 heads, you won't make your goal of 380 HP. It also don't have much of a lope unless you get the 112 LSA. I have a sound clip of my 2004 GTO with the TR224 114 if you want to hear it. Just PM me.

An alternative cam to consider is the Texas Speed 228R (can be ordered with 112 or 114 LSA). That will give you a bit more muscle over the TR224, but still far tamer than your buddy's S-cam.

You're going to want to stay in the lower duration of cams for the DD aspect of it, as well as the area under the curve part. The 112 LSA I would think would be a good start for the lope you may want. Are you going to be staying stock heads, or swapping those too? With swapping heads and a matched small cam, your power will be under the curve and a good bit higher than the 380 mark, it opens up another can of worms and give you many more choices of shelf grind cams vs custom spec cams.
