Original LS1 Prototype Head Casting 554 I had a guy come to my booth at the Swap meet this weekend and he had a set of 554 casting heads. These are perimeter and center bolt valve cover heads. They have what I think is a idea # on them along with a date of April of 1996. Each combustion chamber is measured and the volume is wrote on the deck of the head next to the chamber. All chambers measured at around 60cc. The ends of the heads also have stamped "milled .013" on the ends. They look to have bronze seats and the Heads are in New conditions, never being placed on a motor. Does anyone have any info on these. I was wondering if anyone from GM or one of our sponsor had info they would like to share. Oh and by the way I bought them from the guy so now I have them. If anything they are a good conversation piece being that GM did not release a dual bolt pattern valve cover head.

There was a thread on here, where someone came accross some prototype long blocks. I saved the pics, but the thread should be arounds somewhere.. Someone from GM posted in it about the prototypes making it out of GMs hands..
