Daily driver cam?
But, here is the problem. Everyone knows that tq is what matters. So why does everybody want a high hp car? Bragging rights will only get you so far. I guess most people talk a big game and show their dyno queens at shows. You can tell who actually goes to the track around here. They are the ones that sit back and quietly suggest things here and there and dont get bent out of shape if you decide to go a completely different route. If those people are going to be their competition, I would just nod and say "to each their own". The majority of theses "What cam?" threads end up being someone that just wants a lopey idle, but doesnt know how to ask about cam choice without letting their dark secret out of the bag. I can sit here all day and spec cams that will give you a lopey idle. You want real performance? Ask a professional. EPS and TSP are a phonecall away. You are just going to get someones bad advice on here if you let a thread like this build and build. I have only seen about 3 people contribute worthwhile thoughts so far.
When I was doing my cam swap in my DD M6 Ls1 GTO I talked to my shop who then directly talked to Comp about a custom grind.
They told comp I wanted to build NA stay stock cubes and wanted to eventually add heads down the road. They suggested in the 228r and vrx4 duaration cam areas. Needless to say I went with nearly a VRX4 but they added 2 Degrees of timing. Car made 390/375 while at a slightly rich 12.5 a/f with stock 241's and stock ls6 intake no UD pulley (yes i had 85mm tb but it had funnel adaptor and likely wasnt more HP than stock tb) A good tune is KEY! 40mph 6th gear 1,000 rpm no problems

I think the OP just wants the sound of a rumpity rumpity rump cam.I know where he is coming from.Sure he wants to get all the HP /Torque you can get, but in reality, he just wants the sound, maybe not, but thats what I think.Who cares about the big giant cams and claiming I have this and that, try driving across county with that monster and see what happens.Not trying to start a pissing match, but just because he wants the "small" ASA cam and people think that its a chity cam, some might think your cam is chity too and to big.
