I would have done it all the ready but its snowing so one day this week im gonna pull the valve covers off. Hopefully It didnt mess up the pistons or anything on the bottom end. I honestly wouldnt be supprised if i pull the covers off and find stock valve springs or something stupid... the car was supposed to have a built tranny when I bought it and well... it failed and I had it rebuilt and they said it was pretty much stock with the exception of a little cheap shift kit and a billet servo. non the less hopefully i can get by with some new heads and everything else be ok. I also had to rebuild the rear end, it was about to gernade its self lol. Im gonna have a new car by the time im done with it lol.

When this happened I just got the car back from having it tuned. I drove it home..about 140miles. On my last 1/4 mile or so i got on it and made this video, and when i pulled in the drive i heard the ticking...

Sounds like you held it on the rev limiter too long in that last video and probably did some damage. I know the guy who owned this car before you and it does have dual valve springs on it so highly doubt that's your issue.

so if thats the case then it would be a tunning issue that caused my problems?
I just had the car tuned at redline in crystal city.....

If your tune was on the lean side on the dyno, I've read that the car will run a bit leaner on the street than the dyno. If it was detonating heavily, you could have damaged a piston (broken ringland?).

From your second video, it sounds like it spun in first, which caused it to hit the limiter, then it continued to spin through second. I can't imagine that doing any damage unless you already had something about to let go.

There is metal hitting metal, we can hear that. The motor has a bad problem. Sorry if I didn't contribute anything.

Well atleast you have the courtesy to apoligize b/c you sure as hell didnt contribute anything.

Who posts "mechanical problem", really dipshit?

Many of us wouldve pulled the covers and checked before we came on here but maybe, just maybe theres a foot of snow on the ground keeping him from working on the car and he was just asking so he knows what to look for when he starts tearing into it?

Next time lets try posting something USEFUL, or not posting at all.

Carry on.

Not really. Sounds like it spun on you bad thru first and second and you just held it there. As the driver of the car you maybe should have let off a bit so it wasnt just pegging. You really need to pull the covers off. It could be something as simple as a loose rocker arm. My friend had that happen to him. Was the engine bone cold when you made that pass? Could have possibly broken a spring too if it was.

It really does sound like an intake valve not closing and compression entering the intake.

Well there has been several people including me say "pull the valve covers and check". Start there when you are able to, i know the snow was bad...then get back with what you find. It could be simple, it could be big. You will never know unless you open her up. So dig in and please let us know. Good luck bro, I know that feeling you get when something happens(especially if its your DD!)

What amazes me on this forum is how so many who have barely changed an intake manifold hand out advice based on what they have read in another thread. You generally cannot diagnose a tapping noise like that over the internet. Sound travels in a motor sometimes occuring on the opposite side of the motor or front to back. You really are not in a position to be such a smartass. And I don't need advice that comes from a child.

Ok so I took the car to Redline in crystal city, because im not that familiar with gas engines and Andy has earned my business. Anyways He called me today with Great news. He told me that the rocker arms where not torqued down and the bolt had backed out. Anyways the loud noise was the car back firing. He checked out everything else and it all looks good

Anyway, sounded like there was a vacuum leak as well, the idle was erratic. Check the springs, if its not them, keep digging.
