Default Power difference between 5.3 and LS6 heads

I know the difference between the heads but what are the power differences between the TSP PRC 5.3 and TSP PRC LS6 heads?

+1. The flow number are with in a few CFM. The 5.3L head runs a 220cc runner, what is the runner size on the LS6 head Stage 1 and Stage 2.

The LS6 heads will make a little more power even in stage 1 form.... The compression bump from the 5.3' is overated IMO because after the chamber work they do they are 63cc and some change......

From what I have found and read is that the LS6 heads have alittle more room to work with asfar as flow numbers go. The 5.3L heads are about max out and they still flow a hair under the stage 1 LS6 heads. As far has the compression ratio goes, you can mill the LS6 heads to the CC as the 5.3's. The 5.3L stage 2.5 heads with the same springs as the stage 1 LS6 heads run $984 for the set and for $40 more you step up to the stage 1 LS6 heads. I think it's worth the extra $40 for the LS6 heads. Just my .02 cents.

I went with the Stage 1 LS6 heads, and Texas Speed checks the deck surface anyways so they will mill to your desired CC (free of charge I might add). I had mine milled to 62cc's to achieve 11:1

Search failed. That is the first thing I try before making any threads.

Talk to Texas speed. I know they like to push the sale on the 5.3L stage2.5 heads. But ofcourse, its all about what setup your running. 220cc intake runner on the 5.3's is supposed to be better for lower/mid-range power. The 225's the LS6 heads have is supposed to be for upper power, from what I have read about these two heads. My $.02

I have read the same...If it were me i would pay the few extra bucks for the ls6s, and just have them milled(for FREE) to your desired specs..just my .02...

For me it wasn't just about flow, the two are fairly close. If you run a cam with big enough lift (in my case 588), the stage1 LS6 heads don't have the right springs. Upgrading to the better dual springs makes the price tag much heftier and to me the better bang for the buck will be stage II 5.3's.

I suggest taking them to a machine shop before selling to avoid any issues

Trust me on this as I'm in a situation currently where I need to get my money back from the seller for the 5.3 heads I bought.
