Default Trying to figure out my CR (HELP)

Double check my math... I was reading
Head CC volume vs Compression Ratio
and according to the 5th post down .005" differnce in the gasket or milled off the head will land me 1cc difference in the combustion chamber. I did some math on my setup and wasn't sure if I was doing it correctly so here it goes:

0.053" stock head gasket
-.040" New head gasket
0.013" difference in gasket height
+.030" which is what I am having milled off the heads
0.043" which is the total height taken from the combustion chamber

then .043/.005=8.6
Which would mean that I am taking a total of 8.6 cc's out of the combustion chamber?
That just doesn't seem correct to me because that means my combustion chamber would be 58.07 cc's. If I did it correctly awesome.. if not, tell me how much of a dumbass I am with the corrections.

Thanx

For an LS1 head it's more like 0.007" mill = 1cc reduction. You can't figure the gasket that way though. Taking .014" off the gasket thickness will boost compression a tad more than .014" of head milling. Because the quench pad takes up a decent amount of the cylinder and it is flat, milling it down will not reduce the cc of the chamber. While the entire gasket is an open area, so making it thinner will remove more cc's.

If you want to find out how many cc's you remove with the head gasket you need the thicknesses and ID of each in centimeters. Then calculate the volume of the cylinder of the differing thicknesses and subtract the results. It would be alot easier to just download a CR calculator and enter the figures though.

I came up with 6.8 total cc's removed.

With .040 gaskets and that much milled from LS1 heads, you'll be a little over 11:1 CR.
