Which ones do I really need? Also whats the part numbers? If I remember right the only ones I needed last time were 2 water pump gaskets.

I think it depends on the mileage of the motor, When I did mine my car was at 120,000 miles and the front cover gasket that is made of an aluminum shim with molded rubber on it, the rubber was flat and it should be thicker then the shim for sealing. I replaced mine, and my front crank seal with it, also done forget to add a tiny bit of black rtv on the corner where the front cover meets the oil pan/meets the block.

My other buddy's car had 50,000 miles and the front cover gasket looked new, still had thicker rubber seal then the shim itself, reused it with no issues.

My valve cover seal/0-rings are still soft at 144,000 miles and no leaks, will continue to re-use them.

If you are doing a cam swap, oil pump is a must as well, There you will need an o-ring where the pickup tube meets the pump, always replace with new and take care when installing it.

there are many write-ups on this, check out ls1howto.com good luck

I have also re-used the water pump gaskets WHEN the o-rings are again bigger/ thicker then the shim(my buddies car) Mine were again smashed by age and mileage of the car.

Texas speed sells water pump gaskets, timing cover gasket, main seal and a new balancr bolt for 60 or 70 bucks

Worth changing it if you have it apart .

Valve cover gskets normaly dont need replacing unless your milage is high

The last cam swap, I had the timing cover gasket but forgot to replace it, car had 94k on it and it was fine after. My current car also has 94k on it.

So I need waterpump gaskets and a crank seal? Whats the part numbners? I want to just drive up to the dealership and see how much it will be from there.

You dont need them but its good to change them

napa has good gaskets as well.

But It was cheaper just to buy it from texas speed unless you know someone at a GM dealer.

Also My dealer was trying to charge me full cost, most give you a few bucks off.
