Default 317 Head swap

I'm swapping my stock 806 heads on my 98 TA for some remanufactured 317's. Would the 5.7 L MLS gaskets be okay to use? I'm doing a basic stock rebuild with some bolt ons.

I am sure you already know this, but you are going to lose a decent amount of compression running 317 heads with stock LS1 pistons.

I'm aware...but the heads were milled down a bit so I wont lose too much. Plus this gives me the opportunity to slap on a blower or nitrous system if I ever want : )

I called Texas Speed and they told me to use 6.0L gaskets.

The combustion chamber width is the issue, if the gasket is too small it will hang out or be too close to the edge of the cylinder and it will become a hot spot or get burned. So, use 6.0L headgaskets.

Okay, so lets flip this. What stock MLS gaskets to use if you are running 5.3 heads on a 6.0?

There really is not difference, if the bore of the cylinder is the biggest opening that's the head gasket to use.
