Default Max 5.3 bore?

What is the maximum amount I can bore a 5.3 out to? And what is the stock bore size of the 5.3? Thanks.

I am not 100% but I know you can turn them in to a 3.905 which is a 347 with standard crank. I am not sure if you can fit a 4.0 stroke crank which will yield a 383 (I don't see why not, the clearances are the same as the LS1 aluminum blocks). is this going in the Buick GN in your sig? if so here is a good link https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...-crank-hp.html

agreed, dont quote me, but ive always thought the 5.3 is an ls1 block with larger sleeves to reduce the bore

That is correct after doing some more research. Now my next question is:

if I want to put forged rods in my 5.3 and keep the stock crank, what is the stock 5.3 rod length???

A 5.3 uses the same rod as a LS1(5.7)and they are 6.098 inch center to center long.

^^^^This guy is correct, you could also use 6.125 rods if you want to.
