Default EPS Cams

Iv been looking at Cam's for sometime now. I heard Patrick G was working with theis cams making good power without being as hard on the springs.

http://www.engpwrsys.com/index.php?a...d&productId=10

234/246 .602/.607 111 LSA

Right now my mods a Lid and Catback w/cutout.
Car is an 02 WS6 M6

Looking to get a set of KOOKS longs tubes and Y pipe before a cam.
Also getting a Rebuilt Trans, and Very possibly a 12 bolt. What gear would i want?

That cam should make great power. I've heard nothing but good things about EPS cams. I'd go with a 9" with 4.30s.

I am currently waiting for my 2nd cam that is going in my 383, I have had two custom cams made by EPS (Geoff Skinner) IF you are wanting a custom cam, There IS NO ONE BETTER to pick one for you PERIOD.. My stock shortblock and PRC 5.3head combo put down 463 HP with his custom cam for me, I cant wait to get my stroker finished and see what the new combo puts down. SUPER guy to deal with, I wouldnt go anywhere else.

What trans is in the car? Is a a DD, streetcar, race car?

DD or streetcar with occasional racing, 3.73.

race car, 4.10-4.30

4.30 is too much for a streetcar with an auto, but would be more livable with a 6 speed.

Holy exhaust duration. I think you might want to tighten that to make it more streetable and easier to tune.

That cam is just fine, very streetable and no problem tuning.

Would i really need to Rev this thing all the way up to 7200 RPM???

http://www.engpwrsys.com/index.php?a...d&productId=10

Kinda iffy on running a stock bottom end reving that high.

I wouldn't think that would be wise considering you have stock rod bolts.

Regarding EPS lobes, my PatG cam is an EPS lobe, and although it was a very mild grind (specs in sig), I picked up 45rwhp with it.

Just give Geoff a call, tell him your wants/needs from you car and he'll spec you cam.
My bad, to many calls I guess.

Fill out the sheet on EPS webpage and Geoff will call you with ??'s to nail things down. I have no experince with Geoff"s cams before now but we talked for AT LEAST 30 mins before he specced my 403 cam....The SB is still being built so I am a ways away from reporting on the results.... He spent a great deal of time w/ me asking ??'s and the time he spent w/ me was almost unheard of nowadays. Great guy and his results posted so far speak for themselves. I will will post my results when things get together but between HKE , Geoff & RPM Motorsports it should be strong.....

That's the cam I am running, except I got it on a 110+3 because I wasn't worried about fly cutting.

No, the 234/246. It's about the same as his max effort cam for the 346, which is a 236/248 110+3.. but that one won't fit without cutting, and is on XFI lobes. I wanted the EPS lobes so we compromised.

Gotcha.... what CI you running???

I was actually expecting slightly more duration with a little less LSA than he recommended for my setup but he knows WAAAAAAY more than me so I am sure I will be happy.... Why I never get into "what cam" threads other than a general statement....

If I ever get rid of my 228r this is the cam I will be rolling over. With 18° that is a lumpy sounding son of a gun.

Stock bottom end, fly cut, 58cc ported 241's, just a hair under 12-1 compression.. SD tune running on E85. Tune won't be until after the 4th of july though, so I have 100 in the tank and still have the stock maf on it til then.

I remember Bret saying several times he would send cams out he specced.. and the racers would be pissed off because they thought it was too small.. but they always ran faster at the track and that's what matters.

Sounds like a nice setup you have....

Yeah you are right about the track times too. Bigger is not better unless you have the right parts to match (stall ,gear etc...).
