oil pressure issues with a 5.3, help please my buddy has a '03 silverado and is having oil pressure issues with it. He was driving on the e-way and it died out and had to get it towed and he thought it was the alternator blah blah blah. Now after further ****** with it... when he starts it, it runs like **** then clears up at times and drives normal. When i was over there tonight we put a new oil pressure sender in it cause a GM mechanic said that if the sender is bad it shuts down the fuel pump or some **** like that, so we put a new sender in it and did nothing (as i said, lol). From what iv seen with my own eyes, after we put the new sender unit in it we started it and the oil pressure gauge was at 0 and the dash was beeping "low oil pressure" then he reved it then it popped up to 40psi and was fine 
The motor isnt knocking or anything but still doesnt mean the motor has a bad bearing or 2. Whats ure guys take on it?
