Default Clevite 77 V and Z Series Rod & Main Bearings

Anyone using these? Building a 403ci with a Callies crank that will see 800-850 flywheel hp with boost, therefore, do I really need chamfered bearings? I know they mention they can come narrowed or spec'd for better crank-fillet clearance, but I just want to be sure whether these will work properly or should I go with the chamfered H series bearings? Reason I'm considering is because I can get a much better deal on a set of V main and Z rod bearings & have a X amount of money to spend.

Yes you need chamfered or narrowed rod bearings on any aftermarket crank. ACL and FM are also there and are better on the mains overall and are cheaper. That's what we have been using for over a decade now on the Gen 3 althought the Clevite rod bearings are always fine. The Clevite LSx mains used to be very tight on number 3 although supposedly they have fixed this now but they are much more money than other main bearing race sets that work right out of the box.

one other question for you guys. If I'm going to be using a new set of Eagle H beams and a new Callies crank then will I need to order standard sized bearings? rod bearings there is like CB663HN, CB663HN-10, CB663HN-20, etc. mains with standard, oversize, & with/without dowel hole.

You need to check bearing clearance but yes in general they should work with std sizing.
