Default 347 turbo build, what do you think?

After spinning a bearing in my stock bottom end, I have decided to go with a forged 347 build with a front mount turbo setup, and this is what I have come up with.

Honing the stock block to a 347 with the following:

Stock Crank
Eagle H-Beam rods with ARP 2000 Rod bolts
Wiseco -3cc Flat-Top Pistons
Wiseco Ring Set
Clevite "H" Chamfered Main and Rod Bearings
Stock 01 Z06 Cam
Ported 317 heads with dual valve springs and ARP studs
Stock MLS head gasket

This setup would put me at 9.3:1 CR

How do you guys feel about this setup?
How much boost do you think I will be able to run safely?

The car will be daily driven for the most part, but I want to get the most power out of this combo as possible. The car is full suspension with a built 4L60E

Thanks,

Kev D

I guess it depends on what size turbo you want to run and how much boost?

If you went with a little lower compression you could crank the boost up nice and high!

Not sure what turbo I am going to run, basically I wanna run as much boost as possible but not have the car be a complete pig off boost since I will be daily driving the car.

Also do you think 8.5:1 would be to low for a street car?

Why not atleast use the 02-04 Zo6 cam?

.525/.525 204/211 116LSA
vs
.551/.555 204/218 117.5LSA

Sounds like it should be a fun car, good luck!

I don't think 8.5:1 is too low, but I like a more radical Daily.

FYI stock Suby STIs are 8.2:1 compression factory.

Compression is fine. Anywhere from 9.0-9.3:1 is great for a street driver. Mine sees 15psi on 91 octane and it's 9.3:1. Get a good tune and it'll be fine and won't feel like a dog outta boost.

That is good to hear, I plan on running meth with my 93, any ideas how much more you would be able to get out of it?

I run meth on mine as well, but its not really tuned 'for' it. It sprays before the IAT sensor, so when it sprays, the computer sees the cooler charge and adds a degree of timing. That degree of timing netted me 25rwhp. Tuning FOR the meth will get you more than that, I'm just using it as a safeguard more or less. I know lots of guys say they see quite a bit more out of it though - more octane AND more boost. This was at 15psi, which is the most this car sees. Oh, the rest of your list looks good too.

My buddy Matt was running 620/690 on a stock bottom end LS1 with 317 heads and a single T76 w/ an E85 conversion. Car had over 100K on the clock and the only reason it is not running any more is because he tried shaking hands with a light post at 50MPH other than that the car ran flawless.
