Default PP ls1 stage 2's & comp 224 =) ?

hey experts, what do you think.

Going through stock 10 bolt, m-6. I'll be adding headers of coarse, and have FIPK and exhaust already. I'm thinking of getting the H/c pckg from ls1 speed with stage 2 patriot ls1 heads, and comp cam 224/224 .563/.563 114lsa. My understanding is that this package includes springs and pushrods. Tuning would be done locally with ls1 edit, for a (almost) daily driver. Anybody know what kind of power i'd expect, any tips, should i be looking at a different combo for the money and my goals? I'm looking for 400whp and 117mph traps. (et's will be based on if i can afford a new rear )

thanks, all comments welcome

Well, I believe the rwhp should be as quoted, I'm not sure on the mph though. I'm getting my car back tomorrow with almost the similar mods. I'm hoping for the same #'s as u are.

What year is the car? I don't think 400rwhp out of that combo on a 01 or 02 would be a problem with headers and a cutout. My car with a TR220 and stage II 5.3 heads and all bolt ons did 416rwhp 392rwtq and trapped 118 mph with my shitty driving.

Yup it's a 2002, about 20k miles on the motor. what other bolt-ons should i be looking at? i Here that pulley, throttle boddy, and MAF don't really do anything?

I gained 12rwhp on my old combo with the addition of a pulley and ported TB. I belive the pulley was most of it.

IMO, two of the most important "little" mods that people overlook are a pulley and a cutout. On a H/C combo, the cutout is worth its weight in gold.

Do you guys think patriot 5.3's would be a better choice? what are the downsides of the 5.3's compared to the 5.7's?

There really isn't a "downside" to the 5.3's. You get a little more compression from the 5.3's over the 5.7's. The flow exactly the same. If it was my car.. I'd do the 5.3's

FWIW

I think PP 5.3's are a better choice than PP 5.7's but I would get 5.3's TEA Stage 1.5's instead of PP.

My guess is no one wants to side track the thread since it's about Elcheapo pending set up. Would be a great topic for a new thread. I'll take a guess in it.
