Default Looking for 400whp cam only...suggestions?

As it sits, my car has the following mods:

2000 LS1/M6
Hooker longtubes
80mm TB
Lid
Moser 12 bolt

I was told the following combo would get me there....

Vengeance VX5 cam
TEA Dual Gold springs
LS6 intake manifold

and of course a dyno tune

Now I know nothings guaranteed, and not all cars are equal...but I'm looking to get around 400whp...thoughts? suggestions?

with just the cam, intake and tune i highly doubt you will need injectors or fuel pump. It never hurts to get bigger injectors but you can always go use the chart to determine the duty cycle of the inectors.

This combo will get you the 400whp mark but it depends on what type of dyno you are using. An m6 will always dyno higher and im assuming you will be tuned on a dynojet. If you were to get tuned on a mustang dyno I would have to say no you will not see 400whp.

Thanks guys....

anyone know how much power the 12 bolt will really lose @ the wheels due to parasitic loss vs a stock 10 bolt?

I hear all kinds of answers on this one...

You should get it with no issues. Bigger isn't always better but i'd consider a fast intake over the ls6 for future modding.

You will be much happier if you build a setup for your goals other than just trying to achieve a rwhp number with one major mod. But yeah a big cam will get you to 400 rwhp but your under the curve power and torque may not be where you want it. Adding a few extra mods will get you more power both peak and acrossed the range.

I made 400rwhp in my 2002 z28 with a lid , LT , and 224/230 comp cam....smaller cams can do the job IMO

What kind of numbers are you making on the 150 shot? My cam will be smaller than yours (233 239) but still wondering if you've dyno'd on the 150 shot, same shot Im running.

I would be interested in seeing where the MS4 cam'd cars peak at and what the low end is like.

You can hit around the 400 mark with a TR230 or similar cam and have great low end and not spin the **** out of it.
