Default cam and stall advice needed

i am building an 86 monte ss with a lq4 stock bottom end, 700r4, 373 gears. engine will be wearing l92's with .650springs decked to either 67cc or 68cc depending on compression. running a gmpp intake with a quickfuel superstreet. will be using a full 3" pypes exhaust and hedman long tubes. car will be full weight and used for weekend cruising and will see frequent track use. i'm looking for a good cam/converter combination to use with this setup. i've read alot about the tsp torquer 2 and i think it would work well. any help would be greatly appreciated. i'm terribly unlearned in the ls engines haha.

The Torquer 2 would be a great cam, a Torquer 3 would be even better with the added lift. You could run a 3300-3800 converter and have good drivability.

get a torque convertor that has a lockup clutch and as far as the cam goes get you something in the 226/230-232 range with a .615/.600 on a 113+4.

Doubt a V3 will clear with 30 off the heads. I think its pretty close with a stock set-up. That cam pulls like a freight train though Might I also suggest looking into a TR228.

trevor from there suggested i look at their purpose built ls3/l92 cams http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp...=1057&catid=44 i'm really liking this one. think i'll just go ahead and upgrade to forged flat tops with the valve reliefs cut.....if i can find anywhere to get them lol. also would the 3200 yank work with that cam

A 3200 converter is all you need to get your car moving and make it very drivable. However you will be leaving some on the table. You may feel the converter flash to 3000 but your cam still may feel a little dead there. Then at 4k it really starts waking up. Showing you would benefit from a 4k converter. However, that being said, Yes you can get away with a 3200 with that cam no sweat.

according to their website the 231/236 is the largest l92 cam without cutting valve reliefs. they have a pretty good deal on a head/cam package 2050 for the prc stage 2.5 l92s with eht springs, cam and pushrods

The L92s are supposed to have pretty big intake valves which is why the cams cant get too crazy.
