ok, that still doesn't point out that the LS2 heads and '01 LS6 heads r the same, while all 3 may have the same casting #, it doesn't mean that they're all alike, the '02+ LS6 heads have the lighter valves

so is this a question about heads or valves?

If you have an LS1 that is 02 - 04 you will have the LS6 manifold, if its 97 - 01 you will have the LS1 intake unless you have the 01 ZO6 and then you will have then LS6 intake manifold.

What the LS6 valves give you is lighter valve train and stability in the higher RPM range (6500 - 7K rpm) Since a lot of people know how good the 243/799 casting heads flow for 350 is a steel and jump on it. I would personally have them checked just to be safe. Do not pass them up they are a great buy, and you can upgrade your manifold later on.
Does this answer you valve question? lol

u don't get it, do u??? i'll say it 1 more time... '01 LS6 heads and LS2 heads are the same... '02+ LS6 heads have different valves... if the valves are different, the heads therefore are different... last time, good bye...

No actually the 243 casting heads are the same no matter what valves they have or do not have. The flow numbers the intake runner, exhaust runner and valve guides and all are the same. the only thing that the lighter valves give you is stability at higher RPMs. No matter what if a head was a 243 from an 01 or an 04 or a 799 from an 06+ they flow the same numbers the only and most significant factor here is the valves.

You can have 2 heads of the same casting give you different hp curves depending on the valves and springs used if you use the same equipment on the 01 243s and the 04 243 or the 06 799 the hp curve is the same on the same engine give or take up to 1 - 3 hp.
