Well, $700 later in labor(on top of the first $600), I'm still not happy. I've never driven a cammed car before, but I'm pretty sure its still incorrect. It does idle now (sounds decent at idle), the magnaflow didnt help me too much from the slp. I can smell fuel so its def running rich, seems to be taken too long for the rpms to drop back down? But Idk if that has anything to do with the 410 gears or the cam. There is a tune in the car for the torquer2, but maybe that isnt good enough, all I know is I'm running low on funds. The harmonic balancer has grooves in it from the previous shop dropping it, so the belt is squeeking. As for the power, I havent had it above 3,000 yet, was told to baby it for a few miles because of the new gears.

Well heres todays story. I felt it wasnt running up to par, took it to the shop & found out one injector wasnt plugged in. Plugged it in & headed back home, car seemed to be running pretty decent, pull back in my driveway to find out theres smoke pouring out of my exhaust and i have an engine knock. Im pretty much out of money now & cant pay any more labor. Wish i could find someone localy to stop over & give me a hand. My oil pressure is reading lower than it should be, i think the knock is coming from around the intake. Im not very skilled when it comes to engines, I'm stuck. If anyone is in the helping mood, give me a call 412 403 9941

Thanks!
Minor weight reduction, car is 3250 without me, 3450 with me. Basic stuff, rear and front seats, bumper support, spare tire etc...

I'm still learning things on here, dont know how to find ppl real local to me. I'm not very skilled with engines but im doing my best because i cant afford anymore labor right now. Got the valve cover off, and there are 2 circle i think "retainers" just laying in there, the pieces that go on each left/right side of the rocker. I dont know why they came out, & dont know how to put them back in, but in a small way I'm sumwhat proud of myself for finding the problem on my own. Engine talk is just a language I'm not good with yet, but Im tryin.

Im sorry if i gave wrong information, what i found (the circles) are the circle pieces that go on each side of the rocker. I have no idea why they came apart, but i see that they are not all torqued properly, i can move 3 of them back and fourth by hand. The rockers currently in my car are the ls6 rockers, im wondering, if i can use my stock ls1 rocker in replace of the one that broke, and torque the rest properly. If i can do that? I also noticed each rocker has a different letter and number, like j k l is there an exact order each needs to go in? Final question are what are the torque specs to tighten the rockers, i have found diff anwsers so far on the internet. (This is my first time doing anything like this) But i need to know if ls1 and ls6 rockers have any difference or if i can put the ls1 rocker in replace of the one that has came apart. Thank you in advanced.

Well, finally worked out most of the kinks, replaced the broken rocker with a stocker, & torqued the rest to spec. The knock is gone, it is still smoking, but seems like its dying down the more i drive it (that or I'm getting use to it) I plan to spend most of the day tomarrow, finishing up the "proper break-in period". I can not wait to see what it got. As of now, I think i was expecting a little more power, but I havent beat it yet, so maybe its just hiding lol. Will update soon.

Couple things to remember, first off is tuning. Depending how far off your tune is you need to take it easy on it until to check your a/f ratio. Once you make sure your a/f is spot on then you can start playing. My experiences is that is feels a little less torquey than the stock cam but worlds better over all. So just normal driving around it won't seem to be much stronger but once you get it tuned and drive it like it's built to be driven you will see what it truly has. I turned my stocker like 58 or 6000, since my cam swap I turn it like 65 to 6600, a world of difference. Hang in there, you will get it right!

Damn dude...

That is why if I ever took my car to a shop that was incompetent as the one you took yours to, I would have EVERYTHING that they worked on taken apart again and re-done.

If they can't install a MAF sensor and rear end gears, then I definitely would not trust the internal engine work they installed and worked on.

Sounds like you're too deep into it now, but if you can I suggest being patient, saving more up again and having a real shop start over, before your car blows up.

The smoking isn't a good sign either. Blue smoke? White smoke? Black smoke?
