Torquer2 Experiences?
Hey guys, wanted to make one final post. Recently did an engine build on my 00 T/A m6. Includes the following: TSP's Torquer2 Cam, ls6 oil pump, ls2 timing chain, LS6 Heads, Qtp Lt Headers/slp y pipe, magnaflow muffler, 410 gears, BBK 80mm TB. Long story short, the shop that did my build, messed alot of "little things" (that i knew of) My buddy & I spent the next 3 days fixing theyre mistakes, upon arrival at the dyno shop, learned there were more problems, including no map sensor even in the car, gears had 3/4in play, ect. Talked to the shop today, the car actually idles now that the map sensor is in, theyre fixing the gears tomarrow. Anyways, this process has been over a 1 1/2 months now. I've lost patients & can't wait to get the car back & running (tomarrow/thursday) Im hoping, providing all else goes well.
Does anyone have good experiences with the Torquer2 cam they can share with me, gains, videos, how streetable, ect. Im game for anything. Trying to keep occupied until the car returns lol. I will post dyno #s & videos too soon, Just want to hear what everyone got to say. I'm hoping to put down atleast 400 at the wheels. Possibility with my mods?

There is a lot of info on the TQ2 on here. Granted you will have to dig back about 2-3 years to get some of the first impressions and dyno charts on the majority of them. One of my good friends runs it in his 6.0L and he is extremely pleased with it. It's a great cam still IMO.
to the top. Yeah that seems to be the problem, not alot of members recent went with the torquer2, i think the torquer3 is more popular, but I didnt want the higher lift. Any other experiences?
Torquer 2 is a GREAT cam for the street, plenty of manners with a 6speed! i was able to EASILY run 3.42s with it. ive had the came for about 3 years now.
Cam only w/ catted y pipe and hooker catback i made ~395rwhp
Not knockin' your set up but why didnt you go with a LS6 intake? or FAST?

Im hoping to make anything over 400rwhp. As for the intake, I bought a Weiand 80mm, just sold it because i need the extra money to pay the current shop that fixed all the mistakes the last place made. In the future, I will prob get a better intake. Right now I'm trying to round up money to pay for the dyno I had planned on getting last week before i knew i needed more work done to it. It really sucks paying double labor charges! But whatever it takes to get it done correctly i suppose.

Therobman's video. Was just trying to get an idea wut its going to sound like, havent heard it at idle yet (when i had it at my house for a the few days, it didnt idle had it hit 4k just to keep it running. I had an slp loud mouth on it, made my neighbors take videos & send to the cops lol, so im throwing a magnaflow muffler on in replace of the slp, hopefully that will tone it done a bit but still sound good.
Sounds good thank you. My gfs probably going to kill me when she hears this, we got a 2 yr old, but I'm sure he'll love it, I'm starting him early in car interests lol. Does anyone have videos of the speedo punchin it down the road?
As for the other shop: Put the directional tires on incorrectly, oil dipstick, valve cover bolt were just laying on top of the engine along with some other bolts, map sensor wasnt even in the car(guess that was just too hard for them) 02 sensors were still on my old exhaust manifolds, they "rigged" all the vacum lines VERY sloppy, put "lawn chair bolts" in my intake manifold, did my brand new 410 gears incorrectly 3/4" play on the rear end (that and the map sensor was the hold up for the dyno). They scratched both feders up(guess it was too much work to put a towl down when leaning on the car). They took the heads off to do the cam lol, which is why i had them slp ls6 heads on for me at no extra charge. They charged me 600 total, which was a great price, but i got what i paid for, now i had to re buy the gears- $300, pay the shop thats fixing their mistakes prob 3-400 so in the end, I saved nothing! On top of that, I paid an extra few hundred for over night parts shipped (they didnt even get to **** till a week later at the time). Soo, all said and done, i could have easily had a 12 bolt or 9" rear end if i would have chose a better shop the first time. Thats my main concern now is the rear holding, & if they torqued the heads correctly and installed the cam correctly. I'm sure Im forgetting alot, but you get the general idea. So, I'm requesting atleast half or more of my money back, means i had to buy new parts and pay double labor, if they dont meet me half way I'll take them to court for all of it back plus parts. I'm not the type of person to **** someone like that, but the thought i put my son in this car and they half-assed the work, he could have been hurt "thought" makes me real pissed! The best part is, the guy who worked on my car seemed quite insulted when i had asked if he ever worked on a car before?

You'll like the T2, I have it in my 6.0 with a stalled auto, it lugs a tiny bit at low speeds, but I think it needs more tuning. As for the power, don't expect to have any traction in 1-3rd in an auto (rolling the throttle to the floor), unless you daily drive it on slicks.
I need to get some videos of mine rolling, but it's a blast, very easy to drive. Like others have said, stalled auto/6 speed it's pretty gentle. Power doesn't really come on until about 2500-3000rpm, so babying it from stop lights is easy. Put your foot through the floor board though and it will pass traffic on the highway smoking the tires.

Still running ur stock 10 bolt? Hows it holding up? Thats a big concern of mine right now, feel like I'm going to scatter it on the street or first day at the track
When I get it back tomarrow, theres already a "simple tune" in it for the torquer2 cam, but ... I dont want to half *** anything now after i came this far, I'll drive it around a little, break in the gears, and take it back for a dyno.

Let me know if you have any questions. Still spun a little, trying to dial in the shifting and suspension, probably has an 11.5 or so in it with the Torquer2.
