99 5.3 bored to be 5.7 rotating assembly?
i know that i can bore my iron block 5.3 out to be a 5.7 and ive looked for rotating assembles. but all i come up with are complete forged set ups that cost $3500 and up. anyone know of a cheaper kit? and is there a rebuild kit for a 5.3 or LS1 that comes with all the gaskets and seals i need?

You can reuse the stock LS crank and just go with a set of forged rods and pistons. Through in a set of bearings and you should be around 1500 or so depending on your choices for everything. You can buy a master gasket kit for like 125-150 i think from parts stores or online.

The answer is: YES.
You can bore a 5.3L to 3.9 inch bore, but not to 4.0. Technically a factory 5.7 is 3.898 bore, so you are golden. They use the same 3.622 stroke.
4.8 and 5.3l use the same block, so you can do the same thing to a 4.8 too, but it winds up as a 5.2, unless you swap the cranks to the 3.622 crank, then it is a 5.7.
