Question Oil pump removal??? please help

Hey guys, i need to know if you can remove your oil pump and put a new one in with the oil pan still attached, and not removing the motor. I know you would have to remove all the front harmonics, but is it possible to do all this without removing the oil pan?? Is there any websites that show how this is done?

Thanks again

You need to unbolt the oil pan and lower it some to get to the oil pick up tube bolt. You don't need to remove it totally.

For a tip, tie some light string around the bolt. This will not only help you retrieve the bolt if/when you drop it in the pan, but you can use the string to pull upward pressure on the bolt while installing it, to keep it from dropping until it threads.

You need to loosen all bolts including the 2 long ones by the bellhousing and a ratcheting wrench for the pick up tube bolt.

You can get it and I highly recommend string, I used a slipknot in kevlar fishing line.

I like to put a rag just inside the pan, flattened, just in case the bolt DOES drop. It'll keep the bolt from bouncing down into the pan.
