Pistons - ~$600
Rings - ~$160
Rods - ~$300-600
Main bearings - ~$70
Cam bearings - ~$70
Balancing - ~$150-200
Finish bore to 4.125" - $90-150
Assemble Pistons - $40
Assemble shortblock - ~$125
Total: 4000 - 4500
These are just general prices of what I have found while starting my new engine project. You can save some money if you just get some cheap Eagle rods and not 4340 forged ones. You can save on all the machine work if you have a hookup or you can do some of that yourself, like the final assembly and what not. The biggest chunk of change is of course the block. MTI wants $2,600 I believe, while Speed Inc. can get the block from MTI and sell it right back to you for $2,400. This of course doesn't include the shipping which adds a good bit too.

Resleeved block from Speed Inc. - $2,400
Pistons - ~$600
Rings - ~$160
Rods - ~$600
ARP rod bolts ~$75
Main bearings - ~$70
Rod bearings - ~$50
Cam bearings - ~$70
Balancing - ~$150-250 depending on what's needed.
Finish bore to 4.125" - $125
Assemble Pistons pin fitting - $120
New LS6 oil pump ~$80
New timing set Comp cams ~$180
$4500 to $4700 if you do all the labor
Priofessional - Assembley shortblock, checking & extreme attention to details ie no just slapping parts in - ~$500
$5000 to $5200
add an Eagle crank for $800 and say $150 for additional machine work call it a $1000
and for $6000 to $6200 you have a Super stroker 427 short block.
With quailty ported heads add say $2495 for the AFR's when they come out or $2200 for 6.0's
As much as a Big Bore costs, I'd get good rods because you might want to spray it latter on.
BTW - MTI sells Big Bore short blocks ready to go for $5999
Adding an Eagle crank might only cost another $1000 so maybe MTI or someone else could do a $6999 short block for super stroker.
