Default scr/dcr help please

i'm hoping i'm missing something here but i'm not sure. i've been using some online calculators and i'm coming up with a dcr number that seems way high according to what most people say for pump gas. if somebody could double check me i'd really appreciate it

stock lq9 with the pistons .007 out of the hole
stock mls gaskets
64cc heads
cam is a custom grind 230/242 110lsa on 107.5 icl
intake closing is measured at 46*

when i use these values i'm coming up at 9.5+ dcr which seems high. thanks for any help. i was hoping to run a tighter gasket but this has me a little worried

Assuming they are XER Comp Cam lobes, I get ~8.7 DCR

You need to advance that cam if you are getting 46* IVC. 110 LSA installed on a 107.5 ICL should be 42.5* IVC. You need to advance it 3-4 degrees. Where did you get that cam?

cam is an fti deal and i was told since the "leading" events were good to leave it. no idea what that means. this was my first time trying to degree a cam

Is that installed straight up? You will want to install it around 42-43* IVC to maintain a better low end torque curve. The high split of exhaust duration will provide all the high rpm potenial. Cams like this are the best of both worlds really. Small intake duration to maintain good mid range power with a high split to rev like no other. Keep us updated on the results, I bet you will love it. Btw I run 8.7 DRC on the street with no issues on 92 pump gas. Keep us updated.

Who produced the cam card, FTI or the cam grinder? I think they are some kind of isky lobes, but I'm not 100% sure.

cam is spec'd around a ported single plane and a 4150 4 hole. when i emailed the results of the straight up install to Ed he said i was good because of the lead events and there was probably alittle error in my readings on the down side of the lobe
