Default Torquer 2 vs el torro

So as the title states the choice is between the torquer 2 or el torro. I need to make a decision fast and i would like everyones opinion on which cam to go with. The car is a 00 SS M6 with bolt ons. I've already done searches on both but Im still not sure. Any help is appreciated

Well I am biased toward the El Torro because I am running it with a 234 exhaust lobe since I have cats........

From the looks of things the el torro has a very nice torque curve, better than the t2. The t2 might give a bit more top end, but overall I would say el torro is your best bet!

Runnin the good ole El Torro here too....very good torque with an M6, especially if you have 4.10 gears. Make sure you have a good free flowing exhaust as well.

I'm running the T2... I'm happy with it, really nasty cam at 112LSA, pulls like a freight train... Hard enough in fact to slaughter my converter and take my built 4L60E with it.

How much power are you guys putting down with the el torro? I want to be in the 400 range with good power all around thats why im leaning towards these two. I have seen the torquer put down those numbers on numerous threads. i have the full exhaust done on the car the only thing is that it still has the stock ls1 intake and i dont plan on changing that anytime soon.

Is the sound really radical on a 112? I dont want it to sound radical, i want a beefy sound. would a 113 sound good and still have good power? Im kinda new on cams so i dont know much about that kind of stuff.

^^^^^^^^Even on a 113 that cam will lope. The 113 will just move your poweband up a couple hundred rpm. El Torro is on a 111 and mine sounds like a popcorn popper The El Torro will make torque sooner and probaly a little more overall IMO. Mine is carrying power at at 6500 shift point but my FAST 90/90 helps there....

That sounds a little to much for me im not trying to sound like the car is going to eat someone lol more of a calmer yet muscle sound. I plan on getting the single beehive .650 springs with the torquer 2 i think that fits me a little better. In the end cammed is going to be better than staying stock

Those are the springs I'm running, the PAC 1518s...

The cam on the 112 is definitely aggressive sounding, everyone loves it, including me. If you just want a nice little lope, I think a 113 or 114 LSA is probably more your speed.

LSA will only effect where the power comes in at, I wanted my powerband as low as possible and the sick idle was a nice bonus for me. If you're willing to rev yours out more, then you'd be just fine. The LS1 intake is going to hurt you though, 400whp may not be attainable with it and the T2, the cams needs to breath.

hindering a cam like the t2 with the ls1 intake will kill the power potential. like longshot said it needs to breathe. an ls6 intake would be a nice upgrade and you could prob find one used.

yup, yup. LS6 intakes are cheap in the classifieds. Grind down the fins on the bottom and it'll fit perfect. You can probably get it done for under $300.

I wouldnt let a 111lsa scare u away from el toro. I love the powerband. It lopes, but nothing like an ms4 or anything.
