Change oil light came on, but not low on oil really...whats the deal?

Default Change oil light came on, but not low on oil really...whats the deal?

I'm a little low on the dipstick, but nothing too low, just a little below the full, the change oil light comes on, and I pop the hood and check it and everything is fine..

This ever happen to anyone?

The change oil light comes on after the computer determines that you need an oil change... unless its reset after every oil change, it isnt accurate. Press and hold the trip reset button with the ignition on, engine off.. wait for the light to flash. That resets it. Its nothing to worry about.

I always heard that it came on usually when you are a quart low, I didn't like when the flashed on the dash, since I'm keeping an eye on oil consumption... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
