I'm running a non-ported LS6 pump. I believe it was called the HD pump from Scoggin Dickey. Thats where I got all of my parts, except for the cam and pushrods. SDPC had better prices than anyone.

Sorry for the lack of clarification. You'll be fine with a non-ported ls6 pump, but the ported version will give you some additional oil pressure.

I'm running a ported/shimmed ls6 pump, but that's because I got a good deal on it (new for $100).

I think there is some added insurance to a ported version. When I get another engine I am definitely getting a ported pump.

$100 is a smokin deal.
