Default torquer v3 head selection?

as the title says i am planning on installing the torquer v3 from tsp in my 99 trans am but am not sure what heads would be the best to go with for this cam. my supporting mods will include a fast 90 intake and throttle body, pacesetter lt,ory, slp cat back, 3200 stall, and 3.73 gears. if anybody could give me some ideas on what heads would be the best it would be awesome. thanks!

I know Im not helping but can you post results when you get this done. I am getting all similar parts except a bit smaller cam and ls6 intake.

To help out, atleast stock 243 heads, personally i thought about going all aout with some afr225s.

If it's in the budget, the premium price/performance head will be the PRC 227's! The more budget oriented head would be the Stage 2.5 LS6 heads!

We can get you setup with either and make sure you have everything else you need to finish the project too! Give us a call sometime!

LS6's will bump you up to about 10.4:1 or so. The 215's will bump you a bit more, to about 10.9:1 or so. Of course additional milling is available at no extra charge, upon request!

The 227's have a little larger valve, little larger intake runner, and flow a bit more air!

Most opt to have the milling done because it is no additional charge and only helps power, torque, and throttle response on NA and nitrous combos!

how do the 227 stack up against your stage 2.5 ls6 heads and your stage 2.5 5.3 heads?..in other words if the poster kept the same came how much more rwhp can he expect over the stage 2.5 heads with the 227

My Torquer V2 and TSP Stage 2.5 5.3 heads made 422/393 through a stalled automatic. Also running mac midlength headers and an LS6 intake. I was very happy considering Mac mids and LS6 intake are not the ideal choices for maximum HP gains with my setup.

Average gains from the ported GM castings to the aftermarket casting will be about 15-20rwhp!

I've had my current setup for about 3.5 years now. I'd listen to what Matt at TSP is preaching. Back when I picked out the H/C package they only had the LS6 and 5.3 Heads. It would be moot for somebody like me at this stage to buy some 227s for 15 RWHP, but if you're just starting off do it right the first time to get the best results from your H/C swap IMO. Good luck.

* I didn't get mine milled at all and used stock GM MLS gaskets and 7.425 pushrods. Link to dyno thread in sig.
