Tech gods old schoolers ...Anyone
I just replaced
Head gaskets
Water pump
New Hyper tech 160 thermostat
Just got it all finished and same problem
I tore it down thinking it was head gasket had block and heads checked ...all good!
I am sitting here right know not knowing what to do ! The weird thing is I dont get heat ! and the lines on the car build up solid amount of pressure hard enough you cant squeeze!
I really have no idea what is causeing this! I was just driving home one day and it all went to hell!
No smoke no coolant in oil !
YOu let it set and run it slowly burps out of car when it gets to 195 you rev it alittle and temp drops to 186 for 10 seconds and rises up and start to slowly burp outta tank !
I am praying that a tech god hopes on tonight!
So didnt mean to steal you thread !

Your car's not going to stay at 160 deg. Nor do you want it to, thats too cold. The temps you are at right now are fine. I have a 160 deg stat and I was driving around this weekend in 40 deg out side air temp and the coldest my car ran was 175 on my obd2 scan gauge. In the hot air (85-95 deg) my car will get to 210-215 after beating on it for awhile.

My car is alway a bitch to burp out all the air after the heads are off, rad is pulled, engine comes out ect... Try pulling the rad and flushing it if you think there is a clog. Then run it with the cap on and the over flow open. Let the warm up and then shut it off, put a towel around the cap and SLOWLY crack the cap when the air stops and copolant starts to leak out of the cap shut it. Wait a min and repeat untill you can take the cap off with out spilling coolant. Pump the lines going in and out of the water pump. You should see the water level rise and fall when you pump. My coolant level usually will fall after a few pumps, top off the rad and cap it. Restart the car and repeat a few times.
Dont be so hard on your self your first post didn't sound like a over heat to me (186 deg). When I'm doing the steps above ^^^ my coolant temp will hit 240-250 when I shut it down and start the burping prosses.
