Default Need Desperate Help!!

I have a 2000 camaro z28 and last fall i put a patriot 226/226 cam in it. I had a problem around 5k rpms where the engine would just rev up and feel like its bouncing of rev limitor so my tuner said to change the valve spings. I just put 243 heads decked .030 with patriot dual valve springs and the car still does it. I need help of what this could be. Rockers are stock, pushrods are stock, and i have full boltons.

I would get the rods get everything tightened down to spec your lash, preload and have it re-tuned.

you think a tune will fix that the first time it was the same thing and the tuner said it had nothing to do with a tune

I don't mean to hijack this thread but...

I have two sets of hardened push rods, one used with 3,000 miles on them, MINT condition & a set of unused ones from Texas Speed that I want to sell. If you need a set of 7.400.

$75.00 for the used ones

$90.00 for the new ones.

Good Luck With Your Project.

So its like you are hitting the limiter? or you are hitting the limiter? More than likely a tune issue.

From the discription sounds more like a slipping clutch or tranny.

Thats what im thinking too.

OP, is the engine noisey at idle? Like a lot of clacking/sewing machine noise? The pushrods arent the greatest thing to have in there, but if they were bent it usually makes noise.

Good luck

No doesn't sound too noisy and its not getting up to redline where my rev limitor is set at. It shifts perfect everyway except when floored. I'm so lost I don't know what it is
