the ms4 will kill ur spring!!!

that intake lift is killer on spring!!!

if ur going to run stock heads i wouldnt go with a big cam, stick a 230s cam in there and when u get a good set of heads sale the cam and throw a bigger one in there.

So 241 heads w/ ls6 yellow springs isn't enough for stock ls6 cam or something w/same specs?

the ls6 springs are fine with the ls6 cam. If you want to achieve the goal you want, you'll have to go with a bigger cam and better springs. I highly suggest double valve springs. There are plenty of cams spec'ed for stock heads. Hell, even the one I'm selling was built to run with stock heads and you'll put around 400 to the wheel with it and some other upgrades. Unfortunately, the intake lift is a lot so I don't recommend it for a daily driver.

Its not going to be a daily driver and not looking to burn up track either. Had someone tell me 224 cam would be good choice?

never rode in a cammed car, and the cam i am running is a 230/227 591/571 112. great cam for a DD and for just a fun little street car. it is similar to the popular TR 230/224. After driving my cam for awhile, i honestly would suggest stepping up to a bit more cam something along the lines of a 232/234 like the TSP torquer or Futral F14.

I don't want to have to change a buch of internals. Are the ones you suggested too much cam?

honestly, i went in circles about which cam i wanted to run. hell, even predator z i bugged the hell out of..LOL.. you will think after searching for days, listening to clips, and endless pm's that you think you have the cam picked, but youll change your mind..LOL.

Since your car is just a street car/daily driver like a good 90% of people just go with something in the low 230 duration. like i said, i have never rode in a cammed car, but i ended up going with a 230/227. your best bet is to just call a sponsor and ask about setups. the sponsors get these questions all day long i am sure. look up the dyno section and see the results of what guys are running with sponsors setups..you also need to think about budget, how much are you willing to spend and so fourth.

With stock cubes anything above the 230 duration mark is going to hurt you down low on torque ! .

I tried a 228/232 on a stock cubed ls1 and it sounded pretty good. Once revved up past 3000, it started to come alive. However low end suffered a little.

Reverse splits are good for low end torque even in the 230 range.

the reverse splits are great for the low to mid range, the wider lsa is nice for a broader powerband. For most people (street driven, whether it be daily or weekend, and are only at the track occasionally) I recommend a 224 to 234 duration and a 580 to 615 lift cam on a higher lsa, and usually a reverse split cam (i.e 234/228 .610/.605) on a 112-115 lsa the reverse split helps the low to mid range. the wider lsa creates a nice powerband, with great driveability. the tr224 and the streetsweeper cams are both great. for the 2 deciding, I would read as much as you can, figure out exactly what you want out of it, then call up a builder (lme, hke, Mike Lough, lloyd elliot, etc) and let them help you out. the ms cams are crappy for a street driven cam. they have NO low end torque,

for a street car that also is a daily driver, i would not go any smaller than a 228/228 cam.
