Perfect in IMO. And if they are 42lbs at three bar fuel pressue like greentops they flow 48 at our fuel pressure so you could grow a little more if you want to and they should still be plenty...... I got some Bosh design III 42lb's on my car now and should be perfect when I move up to a 402....
I guess my question now is at what point do you need to step up to better rails????

yeah the ls1/ls6 rails are good to 600 hp I ended up going with aftermarket rails (aeromotive) early on because i knew i was going N2O and its easier to deal with the fittings and fuel lines than stock. In another words am lazy. I am thinking of going back to e85 and N2O I haven't seen that combo yet and wonder with all that nice cold fuel and N2O how it would perform. Oh well if it blows up you all will be the first to know.

Every car will act differently. I've seen 28's maxed at 400rwhp, and then I make 460RWHP on one of my old personal cars with a completely stock 98 fuel system and 95% duty cycle. She ran just fine for 3 years like that.
To clear up a few other things: One of the biggest restrictions on these cars is the actual fuel lines coming from the tank to the rail. While the stock 98/01-02 pump can make it to 500-600 most of the time, the stock lines are getting bled dry at this point. Anything over 600rwhp definitely needs to look into running a new feed & return lines with an aftermarket pump. I prefer the Racetronix but the Walbro is a cheap alternative if you wanna sit there and dick with hacking up the stock assembly to get it in there.

Surely you dont suggest running an injector at 95% duty cycle is the best thing to do? When spending good money on mods I feel adequate fueling is an essential part of the whole package.
