Default Final Cam questions

What started with me dropping a cam in the LS1 before putting it in my Jeep, turned in to a whole lot more. The motor is 99 camaro.
Here is a list of what is going on.
New pushrods
Newer LSx intake
Speed Inc fuel rails

Now it comes down to the cam, I have pretty much decided on the TR 224, I am thinking 114 lsa, but am wondering if i should go with the 112.
And valve springs I am thinking 918's, will I be cool with not doing retainers?
It is going in a Jeep cherokee, to replace the LT1 that is in it now. SO It is a lot more vehicle for the motor to push around. I am keeping the 700r4 from the LT1, it was recently rebuilt. I am still unsure about the torque converter it has a little higher stall than stock, but nowhere near the 3000-3500 that is recommended. I was figuring it would work in this application though.
Any thoughts?
Dustin

not too much difference on a the 112 or 114 lsa, but if your not using any power adders, id go with the 112. but i would do titanium retainers. You will want this set up to last for a while im sure. and unless you plan on dragracing that jeep, you dont need no big *** 3000 or bigger stall, It realy depends on the purpose of your jeep though, is it just a cool *** daily driver, a mudder, a rock climber or what. you need to choose you stall and lock up or non lock up based off the usage of the jeep. ya know what i mean?
any ways, it sounds kick ***, and i cant wait to hear how it all comes together for you.

I thought I had it all figured out, but I am stil deciding between MTI and the TR. I am leaning towards the TR. I am still unsure on the valve springs and retainers. I would like to do new heads too, but that is not happening anytime soon. I agree on the torque converter, just wanted to confirm. The Jeep is my daily driver, but it does see a little bit of everything offroad. I don't really drag race it much, although it might see some more track time if the motor does what I hope. When I built the trans I pulled all of the lockup stuff out. I have been happy with it all behind the LT1, so I figure the LS1 is just going to be that much better.

I'd go with the TR, great quality cams. Me thinks you won't be drag racing that thing...much, so there really is no need to get the titanium retainers, unless you plan on hitting the high RPM's often, 6000+. I didnt get them and have been just fine. They also reduce the "mass" of the valvetrain and may help things to move quicker, but aren't a must, if you have the money go for it. 918 springs are a great choice also. Just get the cam swap kit from TR, comes will everything you'll need.
