Default Miles on car? Whats to many?

I'm looking at a 97 corvette c5 6 speed with 112,000 miles for $11000.

How many miles are to many miles on these cars?
At high miles does any thing go wrong with them?
Thanks

The price may be a little high, but you can always make an offer for less.
More importantly what kind of shape is the car in and has required maintenance been done to it. These engines will go to 300,000 miles if they are taken care of. Just for kicks I went to Kelly Blue Book and one in excellent shape with 112,000 miles shows 12,695 for suggested retail (car dealer) and 10,345 for private party. Of course this is with my zip code and I'm sure yours isn't much different. If the cars in great shape, low ball 'em and see what happens.

Watch out for electrical issues. Oil pressure sensors, BCM's, TPMS. I wouldn't buy another C5 just because of that. However, they are a good start into the Corvette world.

While 100k miles in todays day in age isn't all that many on a well maintained engine, that price for a 97 with that many is to me a little high when autotrader has 00-02s out there with like 60k on em in the 16-18k range. I personally want a 05 base coupe. Just waiting til they come down closer to the 25k price range so I can afford em.
