Default valve springs

I bought PAC .650 rated springs to rebuild my set of 243 heads. Did i mess up? Should i have bought double springs?

Cam is TSP 228r

all the other parts are brand new GM stuff

What makes you think you messed up? the PAC 1518 (I'm assuming those are the ones you bought) are rated to .650 and the 228 cam has .588 lift. You'll be fine with those springs/cam combination.

i know, this guy at work here thinks double springs are sent from god. he said " if yu brake a spring, yu drop a valve". So how i will break a valve IDK!

There's a lot of polarizing topics, even on here, about single vs double valvesprings, single vs double roller chains, what is the best brand for x, etc...people are just set in their ways. There's a point at which everything will break, and having two springs doesn't guarantee the safety of your engine if one of the springs let go; what if the piece of spring gets into the combustion chamber, or lodges between the valve head and the seat? **** happens basically. Plenty of ppl run both with no issues, and plenty of people have broken both types of springs. I've got the 1518s for my upcoming cam swap and I feel safe enough in my choice.
