Default What timing chain with H/C?

Just curious as to what timing chains you guys are running with your H/C packages or stroker/big bore motors. I will be running an asp pulley so i really do not want a double chain just for the sake of not potentially running into clearancing problems. I am looking into the jwis chain anyone running one and how do you like it? Also did you guys just leave the stock cam and crank gears and just replace the chain?

I know alot of the guys on here go with the Rollmaster chain that TSP sells. I believe it's like $75. If I get a bigger cam that's what I'm going with.

The rollmaster chain from sdpc is like 68.00 and the heat treated one with torrington bearing is like 86.00 I beleive theses are the best choices I used the heat treated one and have had absolutely no problems at all.

Thanks for the replies guys, i am getting my H/C setup from LG and Lou told me to just get a new GM chain and i see there are a few of you guys running this with no problems. I have not heard of a stocker breaking nor has he and he told me he runs a stock chain on his roadrace car that sees 7000rpms and no problems. So i beleive i will go that route.

Thats what I was thinking until I seen the stocker. I had never seen an ls1 timing chain before until I ordered it from my local dealer just prior to my cam swap.
When I picked it up I wondered if they sold me the wrong part. It is so much smaller than the other sbc chains I was used to seeing.

I got a deal on a jwis chain so I upgraded. I still have a new stocker for cheap if you want it.

It sure seems like a light duty chain to me but if LGM has not broken a one I probably wouldn't either.

if you are going to replace the chain...I would at least step up to the LS6 chain...since ur in there anyway...I didn't change mine cause I didn't feel like lifting the motor out to drop the oil pan....

I would get the JWIS chain that you can use with stock gears. I have it, and its MUCH thicker/beefier than stock, and the chain is "smoother and less clunky" than the stocker. A cheap piece of mind, IMO.
