Default Power out of stock parts

Let's say you have an 02 SS Camaro or Vette or something of that nature.

You want it to appear bone bone bone stock. You port to maximum flow on the intake, exhaust manifolds, TB, heads, etc.

Where is the flow restriction? How much does the most restrictive part flow at it's ported maximum? Given that number, would there be any point in porting/working the other parts? Maybe a little bit? Not at all? What cam would you select in this situation? Would probably want it to be quite small to avoid loping and to not be oversized for stock components....

Hell maybe you even stroke the shortblock and take the top end hit in favor of some torque (since you are on stock top end/manifolds. Would you?

Keeping the outward appearance stock, in other words, what is the most you can do inside the engine to make the most power and still be an effective "under the curve" combination?

How much power would you make?

Etc etc.

Arrow No Idea

I have no idea but I sure would love for some of those more experienced with LSx motors to drop some knowledge.

Amusing you you only want to "APPEAR" stock then an aftermarket cam is ok, I'd say on an fbody the stock exhaust manifolds are a SERIOUS restriction. the vette exhaust setup however is superior to the fbody.

For starters you can either toss on a set of cleaned up and polised 243 heads (LS6), or take the 241 heads that are on there and send them out to get ported and massaged. Patriot will CNC a set for ~$600, and this will net flow numbers in the low 300's on the intake side.

Find a LS6 intake if the car does not already have one. If you are willing to toss a lil cash at it to keep the stock look, you can send the intake to have the snout cut off and replaced with a 90mm one to a straight fitting 90mm TB. TPIS does them.

As for the stock exh. manifolds, the vette manifolds flow the best, but good luck getting them to fit on a F-body. The SLP Dual/Dual catback flows better than some aftermarket set-ups yet keeps the idle/part throttle noise down to a minimum.

As for the cam, if you want to keep the stealth look/sound you should look into the Stealthy "Cheater" cams from Thunder Racing. They have multiple grinds that are all tailored to work with stock exh. manifolds and sound nearly stock.

If you work all these together correctly and get a killer tune i don't see why you shouldn't be able to break 420-430hp at the wheels. Then toss on a hidden unit and spray a 150 shot
