You are probably spending about $400 dollars on a camshaft, might as well spend $25 to get one that fits your puzzle.

I made 405 at the wheels cam only/ ls6 intake with my MS3, 6 speed.
Driveability is exactly the same as stock except the awesome idle.

It's a proven cam, I wouldn't ever waste time on a custom cam for these reasons:
-overrated
-Haven't been tested/ proven
-gain over off the shelf cams is minimal at best.
there are hundreds of cams out there for ls1's unless you are running a @#%% insane setup, why the hell would anyone waste their time going custom ?
Basically what I'm saying is "your needs" are probably the exact same as thousands of ls1 owners before you and there are cams out there for "those needs".
and is NOT a dog down low, despite what so many users claim on these boards.

Also I'm a little confused with this "torque down low= fast street car" business.
I guess in theory more torque is going to make a faster low rpm car ...........................
BUT I've never personally raced in the low/mid rpm band. Usually I'm in the upper rpm range when racing, which is buh-bye to "low end torque"
Is there a new style of racing where you shift before 4k rpms, that I don't know about?

But I could not have been any happier going with my MS3.
The most it will do is bring the powerband/peak power to where you want it in the rpm range to suit your needs, but like I said typically there is already an off the shelf cam that would do the same.

You stick to your belief that custom grinds are a waste of time and overrated. You MS3 is no better then half the custom grinds out there. You also focus on peak numbers like that makes cars fast. People dont wanna have to rev there motors to 6800 to be in the powerband.
For a daily driver if you wanna merge into traffic for example, do you ALWAYS drop a geqar or two and rev the motor to 6800? No you leave it in the gear and rev it to 4k and throw it in 6th. With custom grind cams you can have the peak power you want, but you can spread the power across whatever range you want.

Ya it could be useful in that situation to go custom I agree. But what I'm saying is there is most likely a off the shelf cam that would suit the OP's needs just fine, It doesn't sound like he's running a 900hp setup and needs a custom you know?
FWIW, my car is 100% street driven, and my ms3 is not a dog down low and merges into traffic fine

I also don't rev to 6800, the cam stops making power (with my setup) around 65-6600 according to my dynograph which was pulled to 6900.
