Looking for Piston Rings for boosted motor.. :(
Looking for Piston Rings for boosted motor.. :( I am having trouble finding piston rings for my setup.
I am going to be running boost (procharger) around 12psi.
I heard that plasma moly rings are excellent but are not good for boost above 10psi, dont know if i want to run them cause of that. I will never run over 12psi with my p1sc, and I will be making around 650whp once all is tuned and done.
another issue I have is I bought Probe Forged SRS pistons that are dished for my LS1, specs are 6.125 rods 3.902" bore and set for the stock stroke should give me about 9.3:1 compression with my patriot stage 3 heads.
I cannot find piston rings this size at all.. all i find is standard size rings and 3.905"
I am not super great with this but If i buy a larger set of rings like the 3.905" ones can they be file fit for my pistons? or Do I need to find a set of rings made for 3.902"? 1.5mm 1.5mm and 3mm are the sizes needed also in case you need to know..
I just not sure what size to get since I seem to have an oddball size for piston, and what kind of piston rings to get for my plans. will plasma be ok or do I need steel or stainless?

so I will be alright buying a set thats 3.905" or 3.910 like ive been finidng as long as they are file fit?
