timing chain comparison
timing chain comparison im almost through putting together a stock 2000 WS6 LS1,i had to piece alot of this motor together,was wondering(at the risk of getting sent to the newbie tech section) if theres any advantage to using a OEM 2003 ZO6 timing chain set vs OEM LS1? less reciprocating weight? or tougher? i have both from parts ive bought..... sneaking another question in.. i bought some ARP head bolts,a complete set,used,and a few of the larger bolts have slightly rounded heads,i wanted to order just a couple of replacements,tryed to call summit and a few others with no luck,wherecan i buy them seperate? thanx for any helpful replys
For the bolts, contact ARP directly. If they don't sell them like that they may know of a vendor that will.
As for the timing chain, you don't specify if it is new. If you are buying a new chain, you will get the same part for the LS1/LS6 and LS2. The original LS1 chain is no longer available from GM, it was superceded with the later and stronger chain.
