Default Need help with cam selection

I am looking at getting a cam for my 99 T/A M6. Its a XR269HR from my research the specs are 218/224 -.495/.503 - 112. Has anyone run this in there car? My car has a few bolt ons, so i thought this should be my next mod. Will this cam help with performance and idle? Also will this work with stock head components. My plan is to pull the engine apart, new head gaskets, new oil pump, new double timing chain, lap valves and new seals, and all new gaskets/seals for the entire top end. I want to more or less freshen the motor up until i get a chance to pull the block. Does this sound like a good idea?????

Yea that cam is way to small you might as well have a stock on in. Waste of money. Call cam motion and have them spec you one for your car. For the swap I would get new valve springs, ported oil pump while you are in there. For a off the shelf cam I would with a texas speed MS3 cam. 236 242 609 lift heathly lobe.

IMO, at least go with cam with more lift:
http://www.engpwrsys.com/index.php?a...od&productId=5
or
http://www.engpwrsys.com/index.php?a...od&productId=8

Or a Cam Motion, C33-678; 218'/222', .578"/.578", 112 lsa +4
or C33-603; 220'/224', .578"/.578", 112 lsa +4
