Default Theoretical question

Hi just trying to get some insight for a cam.If I get a bigger cam say like an MS3 or something like it on a stock cube car with stock heads full intake full exhaust will I need a torque convertor n gears to help with the idle.This would be after a good tune and then getting it retuned for a proper converter and gears. Any insight is appreciated

i dont think that will help with the idle but the tc and gears will surly help in the performance for sure!

Cool I figured that but my idle is where I'm having problems.I have an unknown aftermarket cam in my car and wanna swap for an MS3 or G5X2 wich ever one puts me in the 400hp range without requiring flycutting

Of course the stall will help with the idle. A stock stall is only like 1600-1800RPM stall. Once you install a cam of that size you will have to set the idle higher so the car will idle properly. If you still have the stock stall then you will have trouble with the car idling properly because of the drag it will have on the motor.

That's what I figured just wasn't sure.I know most bigger cams move the power up in the band and thats a good reason to add gears
