Comp just released a ls specific degree kit a month or so ago. I got it right after it came out. I don't have the part number handy but if you search under my name and degree kit there is a link to it.

If you're going to do it in the car, try to get a small diameter wheel (~8"). The larger ones hit the front sway bar.

The LS kit comes with the LS specific socket to turn the crank and the parts to mount your dial indicator on with the heads on or off.

It doesn't come with the light weight checker springs though. I was surprised by that.

Mine didn't come with the foam case like it was suppose to and i for some reason they sent my the BIG degree wheel not the small one listed in the ad.

I keep meaning to call summit and see if I can get the plastic box to put the stuff in so I don't loose everything.

Interesting, I had to buy the socket separately. Nice piece though.

I had bought the socket before then the kit.

The only complaints I have about the kit is this...

It didn't come with checker springs.

It didn't come with a box, which very well may be a fluke since I was one of the first orders.

There is not way to adjust the dial indicator to run parallel with the valve. (Which I don't know if it's even an issue)

The lack of some basic instructions on how to set up the kit.

I just pieced together a kit from Harbor Freight and Summit.

-Degree Wheel
-Piston Stop
-Checking Springs
-Dial Indicator
-Magnetic Base

I don't think I spent anymore than $40.

I bought both the indicator and base for about $15 the actual Harbor Freight location, but I'm sure you could order them online as well.

To use the magnetic base, I used a piece of angle iron from the hardware store to make a bracket that bolted onto the header flange which provided a flat surface to secure the base. It ended up workng out really well.

I have had eight cam swaps and never a degree wheel. ls1 and ls2 motors never had an issue and for the ls motors not something needed because of how the cams are ground.

You have no idea what you are talking about. My custom cam I just put in was 3 degrees off on the ICL.

Please don't spread misinformation.

How would you know if you've never used a degree wheel?
