Default MS3 Cam Question

I am looking into getting an MS3 cam. A buddy of mine whos knowledge holds no bounds when it comes to LS1s from what I have learned had said that you might possibly have to change your valve springs every 20,000 miles. He was not completely sure so I am posting here. Is that true? How do you guys like your MS3 cams?

I just installed mine on a 113lsa with ls6 oil pump and new springs. I am personally going to change my springs every 10 to 15xxx just to ensure no problems. I would also look into the comp trunion upgrade too. It is also something good to since you will be pulling the rockers off to replace pushrods and springs.

Do you have a link for that. All together how much did it run you for the push rods, cam, valve springs and all? You don't have include a torque converter if your an A4 I already know thats comin.

You should be able to get around 30-40k out of our new dual valve springs. We always recommend checking spring pressures around 15-20k miles just to make sure you are still alright.

I dont remember the exact cost man. 1k counting all the fluids etc. Talk to Texas-speed here. That is who I received the parts from. The trunion upgrade is very easy also. Just ask them the specifics and they will be able to help you through it.

With any higher lift cam, you'll need to change springs more often. How often depends on lift, cam lobe profile, how high of RPM you crank, and how frequently the motor sees that high RPM. Most good dual springs should be good for 40k miles unless you have a very aggressive cam and/or are beating on it night after night.

I found it funny..

I ran TSPs dual springs with Ms4 cam for around 16K miles and never had a single problem.. Shifted around 6300-6400 and beat on it quite a bit.
