how do you break in a new motor?
I will probably drive it fairly easy for about 500 miles b/f going nuckin futs.

Cruise at 30 MPH in OD (for an A4) or 3rd (for a manual). Floor it until you reach 80 MPH. Let off the accelerator and let the engine slow down the car. When it gets to 30 MPH, do it again. Don't worry about up/down shifts with an auto, but for a manual just take it up to near red line. Repeat this for 3-5 times. This will seat the rings properly. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
